The Henrietta Barnett School - Round 2 - Maths - Paper 4
A complete HBS 11+ Round 2 Maths mock exam experience. One full paper designed to replicate the unique format pupils face on the day — including the negative marking section that catches most candidates off guard.
Specially prepared for The Henrietta Barnett School Round 2, our Maths papers run to 60 minutes and follow the school's two-part structure: Part A is short answer, where pupils show working and write their own answers, and Part B is multiple choice with negative marking — pupils lose marks for wrong answers, so guessing is actively penalised. This is rare in any 11+ context and changes how candidates need to approach the paper.
Our papers are written from scratch to mirror the real paper's domain coverage, mark weighting and difficulty curve. Content sits firmly within the KS2 curriculum but is calibrated to the standard expected of girls who have already cleared the top 300 cut at Round 1.
Each paper includes a full answer sheet for Part A working and Part B marking, plus a complete answer key with explanations.
Each paper includes:
- 50 questions across Part A (short answer) and Part B (multiple choice with negative marking)
- Full curriculum coverage: number, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, measurement, geometry, statistics and algebra
- Visual questions — diagrams, tables, charts and grids
- A clear explanation of the negative marking penalty so pupils learn when to attempt and when to leave
- Answers and explanations
Multiple-choice technique that works on standard 11+ papers will quietly cost marks here. Our papers build the discipline pupils need to score well under negative marking — knowing when a confident answer is worth the risk and when leaving a question blank is the better play.
