Liverpool Blue Coat School

Entrance tests for The Blue Coat School assess Maths, English and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The papers are prepared by the school and therefore, do not follow any particular 11+ exam framework unlike most other schools.

Historically the test has included a 20-minute Non-Verbal Reasoning paper, a 45-minute Maths & Numeracy paper and a 50-minute English paper. Questions are a mix of both multiple choice and open answer, so it is important to prepare for both question types.

Let’s look at what we know

  • The test cover English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning

  • Each subject has its own paper

  • Tests are a mix of both multiple choice and open answer

Choosing the right practice papers

Children should practise timed, time-weighted multiple-choice papers across both English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and time open answer papers across both English and Maths.

  • Multiple Choice – English & Grammar

  • Multiple Choice – Maths & Numeracy

  • Non-Verbal Reasoning

  • Open Answer – English & Grammar

  • Open Answer – Maths & Numeracy
